Danny Does New Orleans

He took the train from Gulfport

Carol by his side

He was hoping for a facial

After a long and scenic ride.

Café Du Monde was open

His powdered Beignet through

He saw a feathered lady

A Birthday dollar clue.

We made it to Antoines

Too early for our lunch

Free  soap across the street

He had a facial hunch.

The tarot reading lady

Told Danny his luck would change

He gave her twenty dollars

She didn’t give him change

His French Quarter Tour was over

He desired a Streetcar Next

St Charles to Cooter Brown’s

Shrimp Po-Boys were the best

Danny took the Levee

Although his feet were sore

A Mississippi River view

But he felt he needed more.

We had to catch the train back home

Danny said “I’m staying here”

He never got a facial

But his tarot cards were clear

His luck would surely change

He said “I feel my luck is close”

He made some friends on Bourbon Street

But left the “Quarter”with a lethal dose!
