Every Day - Father's Day

Impossible to please

Yet you never stop trying

Try as you must

You end up crying.

Blame is a weapon

Used by the weak

Father’s day every day

You lose if you’re meek.

Each few words of praise

Savored for years

Criticism’s dwarf them

All end in tears

It’s not just my story

Boys and girls transcend

Writing may help

Abuse has no end.

We try not to pass on

What we hated when young.

Each word that we utter

Measured on tongue.

My kids say they’re fine

And that I did just fine

“Don’t worry Dad”

Is a gift all mine.
